UNITO is one of the largest and most prestigious Italian universities, ranked among the top 300 universities worldwide and 5th in Italy for ARWU SHANGAI (2022), with over 81.200 students, 4.000 employees, 1.100 PhD students and 550 research fellows. Today, UNITO offers 38 doctoral programs and over 150 degree programs involving about 5,000 international students. UNITO manages roughly 600 projects per year, both at the national and international level. Under the initiative H2020, 186 projects were funded so far, among which 35 coordinated projects, 13 ERC, 42 Marie Curie Actions and 9 Research Infrastructures grants. In Horizon Europe, 45 projects have been financed so far: 10 of them are coordinated by UNITO and 8 have been funded under the Research Infrastructures programme.
