Il team di Lucca partecipa alla Site Visit a Cordoba
May 2, 2023The IN-HABIT team in Lucca is working with a number of incredible local organisations doing greatwork in the animal space.
Maniacane
Dog training organisation Maniacane was dreamt up by a firefighter who wanted to put his 15 years’ operational experience in the Urban Search and Rescue team of the Pisa fire service and his training within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa to good use.
With a proven track record in behavioural recovery, Maniacane puts dog well-being first and uses motivational paths to try to achieve results. Its various activities with the dogs include retrieving, a very engaging activity with a strong emotional impact; detection, enhancing olfactory skills by increasing the dog’s ability to manage excitement; and activities such as mobility, dog balance, and disc dog which increase knowledge of the dog’s physical potential and aim to improve its motor skills.
The association is also involved in mock search and rescues, a very important activity for solving many behavioural problems in dogs.
Do Re Miao
An expert in the pet therapy space, Do Re Miao was established in 2007 with the aim of combining the beneficial effects of music and contact with animals in educational, therapeutic, and support courses for various types of physical or mental discomfort.
The association aims to promote a culture of respect and inclusiveness by creating opportunities and establishing meeting, knowledge, and relationship spaces which, involving music and animals as powerful stimuli for growth and evolution, have an impact on the well-being not only of the subjects involved but of the whole community.
With the participation and involvement of various specially trained and specialised professionals, the association has been involved in projects at schools, retirement homes, detention institutions, summer centres, and private locations. Over time, it has created a network of collaborations and is now also engaged in various training activities.
