This year, the 4th annual meeting of the European Veterinary Congress of Behavioural Medicine and Animal Welfare (EVCBMAW) was held in Palma from the 28th of September to the 1st of October. On this occasion, Chiara Mariti, a professor in the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Pisa and part of the IN-HABIT UNIPI team, had the opportunity to introduce the project with a presentation entitled “The IN-HABIT project: policies and activities to enhance the human-animal bond in the urban environment”.
“Being able to talk about the IN-HABIT project during an international congress certainly means that the attention towards the human-animal relationship topic, as well as towards pet-friendly policies, is slowly but progressively increasing. We hope that in the future the same actions implemented in Lucca can also be replicated in other cities.” Professor Mariti said.
During her speech, she explained the main goals of the project in the city of Lucca and reported some of the results achieved in the first two years of the project, such as the co-design of the Animal Lines and soft solutions (innovative services around the topic of the human-animal bond).
