Los socios de IN-HABIT descubren los patios de Córdoba
May 3, 2023The IN-HABIT team in Cordoba took part in Ingenios en ruta, an activity organised by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Cordoba with the aim of disseminating science and promoting scientific vocation among new generations.
As part of Ingenios en ruta, a team formed of researcher Zacarías Gulliver, president of DFC España Miguel Luengo, and journalist Marta Baena presented the work of the IN-HABIT European Research project on co-creating spaces to 52 students aged between 12 and 14 at the Railway School of Cordoba.
In their presentation, they delved into the work the project is carrying out in its 4 European pilot cities (Cordoba, Lucca, Riga, and Nitra), but especially focused on the project’s work and activities in the district of Las Palmeras in Cordoba. The team attended this meeting with the students with the aim of helping dismantle stereotypes and understanding the students’ vision of this neighbourhood and the advice they would give to connect it more with the rest of the city.
Through an interactive workshop, a series of questions were posed to the students, framed in different areas (feel, imagine, act, and share), in order to listen to the young people’s opinions. At the end of the session, eight students who volunteered to be the voice of the rest of their classmates shared what had struck them most about the presentation, how it could be enhanced, what they would propose to make Las Palmeras more connected to Cordoba, and what they would say to the people in the neighbourhood who are making change possible.
The answers from these eight students were recorded, and these audios formed part of a radio programme that was broadcast in mid-April on the neighbourhood’s local radio station, Onda Palmeras – where IN-HABIT has a monthly programme, ‘Palmeras, your voice is heard’ – and in which a summary of this didactic session was shared to give a voice to the young people of Cordoba’s present and future.
