On Saturday, March 26, 2022, we started co-designing very specific solutions for the revitalization of the KOZA community garden in Nitra.
The workshop was dedicated to the presentation of the Horizon In-Habit project to community of gardeners and a joint analysis of the needs of gardeners. The first workshop with gardeners and garden management delivered the design of functional-spatial solutions of the community garden space. The original spatial organization has lost its functional form and this is reflected in emerging problems. Workshop helped to identify and define problems, which we will try to eliminate by delivery of new solutions. “Together we have defined problems of entire community as well as problems of many individual gardeners using the ortho-photo map analysis. Subsequently, we formed groups of gardeners to draw and formulate proposals for a new spatial division of the space of community garden and especially, the creation of new and improvement of the current transition zones, which are currently insufficient“ Soňa Bellérová (FHLE, SUA), coordinator of activity has said. The community garden has problems in terms of accessibility, lack of infrastructure and security.
After elaboration and consultations of potential functional-spatial solutions, another designing and educational workshops for individual functional zones in the community garden area will follow. Important workshops that are ahead of us this spring and summer are educational workshops on the creation of garden mobiliar, the establishment of therapeutic beds and workshops on the original doors of the garden.
